This Role
AMS is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to serve as a technical leader in testing, evaluating, and troubleshooting advanced I&C systems. This role handles complex diagnostic challenges, supports system-level evaluations, mentors junior engineers, and represents AMS in customer‑facing technical engagements.
Senior engineers at AMS play a pivotal role in improving equipment, methodologies, test procedures, and overall engineering quality across the organization.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
• 10+ years of professional engineering experience
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Deep hands‑on experience with instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, signal processing, hardware, or DAQ systems
• Expertise using oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and DAQ tools
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting complex engineering tasks
• Willingness to travel (~25%)
• U.S. citizenship required
• Experience in nuclear, defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
• Hardware troubleshooting, prototype development, or circuit‑level testing experience
• Familiarity with MIL‑STD‑461, IEC 61000, or EMC/EMI troubleshooting
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers
• Strong background writing advanced engineering evaluations or test procedures
